Le fait était connu et présenté aux étudiants en économie depuis longtemps, mais sans véritable révision et approfondissement du processus et de son contexte. C'est ce que l'auteur, Mike Dash, présente dans ce livre très fouillé. Il a remarquablement étudié son sujet, se plongeant dans de nombreuses sources de l'époque, qu'il présente à la fin de l'ouvrage (dans la version anglaise du moins), avant une bibliographie (arrêtée à 1999, année de la parution).Le lecteur découvrira ou reverra au passage la période qui vit se former et prospérer une république hollandaise constituée de provinces couvrant en gros les Pays-Bas actuels. Cette région se libéra de l'autorité qu'exerçait jusque là l'Espagne sur une région comprenant le Benelux et un bout du Nord-Pas-de-Calais. On trouvera dans le livre maints détails sur la vie dans cet état naissant, sur le développement de l'université de Leyde et des villes hollandaises, et bien évidemment sur la culture des tulipes (ex. rôle joué par un fervent botaniste, Clusius) et la passion dont elles firent progressivement l'objet. C'est là justement que l'ouvrage montre les défauts de ses qualités. L'auteur tend parfois à citer quatre exemples là où deux auraient suffi.J'ai parfois eu l'impression de me trouver face à un genre un peu boiteux, à cheval entre l'essai et les circonvolutions d'un récit à effets oratoires, et me suis surprise à lire certaines pages en diagonale, cherchant, dans un fourmillement de détails et d'anecdotes, le prochain élément qui me relierait à la trame et au cœur du sujet. Pour ce manque de concision et cette dilution, je préfère donner 3 étoiles plutôt que les 4 que vaut le grand travail de recherche qui sous-tend cet ouvrage.

Le titre de mon commentaire n'est pas provocateur, mais très sérieux.En voici la raison: presque tout le monde pense savoir ce qu'est l'anarchie, et donc l'anarchisme, or il s'avère que l'immense majorité des gens se méprennent sur le sens même du mot anarchisme. Après cette lecture vous aurez peut-être l'immense surprise de vous dire: "mais c'est de moi qu'on parle ici...!".En 200 pages clairement rédigées, Normand Baillargeon répare brillamment cette distorsion sémantique et cette méprise, dont la faute est imputable à plusieurs facteurs dont voici les principaux:-Toute forme d'autorité (Etat, etc.) a intérêt à utiliser le terme d'"anarchie" en lieu et place du terme "anomie" (chaos, désordre, désorganisation, etc.), de façon à le discréditer.-L'idée d'anarchisme a donné naissance à une nébuleuse de différents mouvements anarchistes parmi lesquels il est souvent difficile de s'y retrouver.-Les anarchistes eux-mêmes ont souvent eu le tort de se replier sur eux-mêmes, de ne pas rendre leurs idées compréhensibles, tolérantes, ouvertes, et surtout concrètes et applicables, et par conséquent aimables et défendables.Le développement de ce livre est composé de 4 parties :1- Les racines de l'anarchisme,2- Les anarchistes notables (Godwin, Stirner, Proudhon, Bakounine, Kropotkine, Chomsky, et autres), et les différentes formes d'anarchismes,3- Les faits et lieux de l'anarchisme (la commune de Paris, la guerre d'Espagne, mai 1968, etc.),4- Les positions défendues par l'anarchisme (du point de vue de l'économie, l'écologie, l'éducation, les médias, l'éthique, etc.).Cet ouvrage peut aussi bien constituer une excellente introduction à la compréhension de l'anarchisme, qu'une synthèse limpide pour ceux qui auraient lu des auteurs anarchistes anciens ou récents de façon éparse.La conclusion, qui est une citation de Noam Chomsky, est honnête et lucide. Ballargeon nous habitue à la lecture aisée de concepts pas toujours faciles, voire rébarbatifs. Pourquoi lirais-je quelque chose sur l'anarchie? Ici, l'idée anarchiste est présentée pour tous. Sous le titre de l'expression la plus connue du père de l'anarchie en France, Joseph Proudhon, Ballargeon convainc le lecteur de ce qu'est l'anarchie en réalité. Non pas le chaos (ou anomie), non pas un idéal ou une utopie, mais une idée, développée par beaucoup de courants de pensée, soit syndicalistes, associatifs, communistes, chrétiens, etc, sous le principe commun d'un "non aux pouvoirs verticaux et hiérarchisés", vers une société basée sur l'éthique et le leadership émergent. Ce n'est pas une critique car l'auteur est un engagé, mais il laisse beaucoup de place à la réflexion personnelle et à l'apprentissage de ce que signifie ce courant d'idée trop souvent présenté à tort comme l'antithèse de l'ordre et la discipline, alors qu'il promulgue justement l'ordre et la discipline!

Très jolie Pochette ! Très bonne finition. La description et la couleur sont conformes. Je l'ai pris en rose pink. Suffisamment grande pour y ranger ce qu'il faut (J'y ai rentré 3 passeports, les billets d'avion, mon portable, CB, billets et monnaie) et assez petite pour être aussi glissé dans un autre sac. J'ai acheté celle-ci pour les vacances. Très belle effet aussi juste comme pochette pour aller au restaurant ou autre quand on ne souhaite pas se charger. Très bon qualité prix. Je pense en commander en d'autres couleurs pour assortir à certaines tenues !!

Après La "Grande Vadrouille" et "Le Corniaud", je me suis offert le coffret des Gendarmes, sachant que mon idée était de renouveller petit à petit tous mes DVD tant l'écart etait spectaculaire sur les deux premiers cités.Hélas, la déception est immense: il y a du grain (et quel grain!) sur les 5 épisodes, même si le dernier semble un peu plus correct. En clair, autant conserver ses DVD. Il y a bien un écart mais il est vraiment mineur. Soit le travail de remastérisation a été mal fait (ou comment faire de l'argent facilement en vendant de la m...), soit la pellicule d'origine était elle même de mauvaise qualité.Je suis donc très refroidit pour acheter un autre De Funes. Les commentaires techniques sur "La Folie de Grandeurs" m'ont refroidis. Pour "Rabbie Jacob", les commentaires sont tous sur l'histoire (que tout le monde connait donc je ne vois pas bien l'intérêt) mais personne n'évoque la qualité de l'image de manière précise.. Dommage

déjà dispo dans une autre enseigne depuis 2 joursj'ai sauté dessus étant fan absolu de louis de funès1er étape le coffretde toute beauté bien solide en carton très épaisc'est un coffret limité est numéroté à 3000 exemplaire je pense (je suis pas sur)- on retrouve le fameux képi, alors ATTENTION la photo du coffret que l'ont voit sur le net n'est pas contractuelle, le képi reproduite et bien fidèle à l'original mais pour des raison pénal la petite grenade avec la flamme devant n'est pas reproduite. (si non sa devient un authentique képi de la gendarmerie) mais il reste vraiment très bien fini assez lourd en main.pensé à bien garder la feuille descriptif à l'arrière du coffret c'est là qu'est numéroté le coffret- ensuite nous avons un beau livre de 96 pages sur les anecdotes et photo de la saga- on retrouve le poster de l'affiche original du "gendarme de saint tropez"- puis le coffret blu ray /dvdqui est dans un fourreau en cartonil ce déplie en 5 partieavec les blu ray devant et DVD derrière (DVD double face avec un film sur chaque coté) on retrouve 3 blu ray avec les 6 films réuni dessus et un disque bonus avec documentaire2 eme étapes les filmsje n'est pas vu les autres coffret avant qui était sortieje n'est pas vu les films encore juste testé si tout fonctionné bienet au vu des images qui passé sur mon écran je peut vous dire qu'il s'agit d'une belle édition HD 2014voilà au final pour les 50 ans du gendarme on c'est pas foutu de nous avec ce magnifique coffret de qualitéau final un coffret à avoir pour tout fan qui ce respect.

This very readable book is about the relationship between Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, and although the author is of course knowledgeable about their philosophies, her main interest is in the psychology of the pair, which is brought out with great perceptiveness.From their adolescence onwards they had both rejected belief in God. This had two consequences in particular: the first and earliest was that `if God is dead, everything is permitted', and they certainly allowed themselves behaviour which, even by permissive standards, was often indefensible. On the other hand, they sought to fashion a morality which, in theory, was as demanding as any laid down by the churches: absolute honesty towards themselves and each other, a ruthless exposure and condemnation of mauvaise foi, the necessity to fashion a moral code for themselves and then an insistence on total commitment to it. These have made them the heroes of their followers and of many thoughtful people who have themselves wrestled with the moral problems raised by the absence of religious belief.But they fell very far short of what they preached: they lied (what De Beauvoir wrote in her Memoirs is often belied by her diary; and Sartre lied about his behaviour during the Occupation); they seduced minors and casually wrecked other people's lives.A typical situation: De Beauvoir, aged 24, had a lesbian relationship with her 17 year old pupil Olga Kosackiewicz; suffers torments when Sartre makes a play for her which Olga encourages. When Olga denies him sex, in part because she has another male lover, Jacques Bost, the frustrated Sartre pursues Olga's younger sister Wanda (ultimately more successfully), while De Beauvoir has a passionate affaire with Bost, nine years her junior, which is being kept secret from Olga; and at the same time, now 29, De Beauvoir has started on a lesbian relationship with another of her pupils, the 16 year old Bianca Bienenfeld, whom Sartre, aged 33, promptly begins to woo and coldly deflowers. This was only the first of many other permutations and combinations. The rackety life led by most of these young women made them physical and mental wrecks in middle age: Sartre, who would maintain all of them financially, came to refer to them as his `patients'!De Beauvoir's affaires are prompted by the powerful sensual demands of her body. Sartre is thrilled by the sheer act of possession, but he dislikes the sex-act itself and, at least with De Beauvoir, is perfunctory about it. So the relationship between them leaves her sexually frustrated. But she is terrified of losing him (for most of her life she is infinitely more dependent on Sartre than he is on her, and she suffers much more from their pact to allow each other sexual freedom), and Bianca becomes the first of her young lesbian lovers whom she encourages to satisfy Sartre's lust for conquest.Both not only describe in detail to each other what they have done, but they also put their experiences into novels, which are all romans à clef, to which Seymour-Jones provides the keys.In politics also they also showed mauvaise foi and betrayed their belief in freedom. It was only the Nazi occupation of France which made them political. Sartre did form a short-lived and ineffective resistance group of intellectuals; but he took over a prestigious teaching post from which his Jewish predecessor had been sacked, and contributed to a French collaborationist magazine. A collaborationist theatre director staged Sartre's Les Mouches - not understanding the hidden call to resistance which can be read into the play. De Beauvoir worked for the collaborationist radio. After the war, Sartre managed to persuade people that he had been a Resistance militant. He now became really famous.De Beauvoir became famous and notorious in her own right, especially after the publication in 1949 of The Second Sex, in which she rebelled against the culture which gave women a subsidiary role - but her view of the female body (p.372) was as neurotic as Sartre's (p.373).In 1952, at the height of Stalin's terror, Sartre threw in his lot with the Communist Party. It was not without a long inward struggle, but it was after all also an example of mauvais fois for a man who claimed to defend liberty. Later he was to confess that he had lied deliberately in his articles extolling freedom of speech in the Soviet Union. De Beauvoir initially stayed aloof from politics, but in 1955 she, too, became a recruit. Hungary in 1956 was too much for them; and they now dedicated themselves to the fight against colonialism, especially in Algeria. But by 1962 they were again visiting the Soviet Union. This time the Soviets entrap the now 57 year old goat with an attractive 39 year old interpreter, Lena Zonina: he again comes back proclaiming that Russian writers now really do have freedom - and he does nothing to speak for the dissident samizdat writers like Sinyavsky and Daniel who in 1966 were sentenced to seven years in the gulag. During those four years Sartre had returned to Moscow no fewer than eight times in order to be with Lena (in bedrooms bugged by the KGB). Only in 1968, when the Soviets crushed the Prague Spring, did Sartre once again break with his Soviet contacts. But he has new causes to support: Vietnam, and then the student revolt of 1968 and the Cultural Revolution.The author writes in her preface that her admiration for them, which was the genesis of her book, had not been in any way eroded. What she admires them for, we learn, is the intellectual contribution they made to some of the major issues of our time. It can scarcely be for the actual lives they led.
